What's New in Release 5.8
NowForce Version 5.8's new features and user interface upgrades are detailed below.
Scenario Planning
Scenarios enable organizations to predefine a set of activities for a specified event. Typical use cases include:
- Emergency preparedness like planning for infrastructure failure, natural disasters or an active shooting.
- Routine planning and training tasks.
- Management of large-scale organized social events like sports or music festivals.
- Repetitive operational tasks, like daily opening procedures or facility shutdown procedures.

Activating User Geofences using Tags
Tags can now be applied to multiple geofences and can be used to activate geofence alerts. in the system.
You can apply tags to multiple geofences during the bulk upload of circular geofences.

In the Geofence settings, you can apply tags to individual geofences.
In the User settings you now associate a tag to a user, and this associates all the geofences inside that tag to the user. You can define alerts in the system if a user enters/exit a geofence.
User Panel Updates
Updates to the User Panel include the addition of the following:
- Remaining Reports column - displays the number of remaining reports available under that user’s license.
- User's Bluetooth status - displays on hover over of the Communication column.
Incident Panel Update
You can now regenrate a PDF for a previously closed incident. In the Incident Panel, filter on Closed Incidents select Regenerate PDF.
Dynamic Statuses Split into Two
Dynamic statuses were a part of the Incidents and the User modules. As this feature expanded capabilities we have spun-off the tool into:
Incident Situation Report
Incident Situation Reports are addable and customizable to an Incident Type. Responders can send situation reports while the incident is in progress to notify the other participants of an issue requiring their attention in the incident. For more information see Adding Incident Situation Reports.
User Updates
User Updates (UUs) is a simple and versatile tool for user-system interactions and for triggering user-related processes. User Updates are used extensively in Policies. For more information see: User Updates and Policies Guide.
System Configurations Updates
Date Format Settings
System Configurations now include multiple date formats options, you can set your preference for your organization.
Additional Language Support
Symphia NowForce now supports German.
NowForce Mobile App Updates
Availability Tab Updates - Improved Visibility within a Unit's Team
In the Availability tab, users can view and manage the members of their Unit. Users can Disconnect from Unit as well as remove other users from their Unit. This functionality has been added in order ensure space is available for for on-duty members of the unit.
New User Location Permissions Settings for Android 11 Devices
New "Allow all the time" location settings permission option now available on Android 11 devices for NowForce Mobile App.
Communication Tab - Update Available button
In the Communication tab you can now see the current version of your mobile and app, and if there is an available update, the Update Available button is activated.
Supervisor Map New Focus and Lock Feature
Until now, the Supervisor's map was by default locked on the location of the app's owner. Now, a Supervisor can center and lock their map to focus on another user.
